Message from the Principals

We welcome you to Ernest Bevin College at an exciting time in its development. We were inspected by Ofsted in October 2011 and judged to "provide an OUTSTANDING quality of education" and students achieved the best exam results ever last summer.

Our college has a vibrant atmosphere and a strong ethos; it has a high expectations of all its community and a culture of achievement. Pupils are expected to identify proudly with Ernest Bevin College and to want success for themselves, for their families and for the college.

In recent years our students have gained impressive GCSE results and this year is no exception: 68% of our students in 2011 gained five or more GCSEs including English and Maths. In addition our Sixth Formers achieved our best 'A' level results to date, 72% gaining A-C grades at A level in 2011 and 95 have secured a place at university.

Ernest Bevin College has been a specialist college for Sport since 2000 and was offered a second specialism in Mathematics and Computing in 2004. The college has a strong reputation for the achievements of our students and our prime aim is to ensure that this continues.

New Sixth Form facilities and a sports complex, which includes a new swimming pool, large sports hall, a fitness suite and dojo, were opened in September 2007. These new facilities offer enhanced opportunities not only for our students but also for our local community. We have attracted contact from major clubs in a variety of sports and are increasingly producing young people who represent Ernest Bevin, Wandsworth and London in national events. We also have several elite athletes who represent England and Great Britain including members of the England cadet Volleyball squad and the British Judo Squad.
