Careers

We are committed to providing a planned programme of careers education to all students and Sixth Formers receive one timetabled careers lesson a week. They also receive a one-to-one careers interview and access to the careers library, information and advice service.

Careers Interviews

Students are supported in all aspects of their choices beyond Sixth Form both with careers guidance and help with university applications. The careers teachers arrange visits to universities and mock interviews with university departments.

Students are encouraged to expand their horizons through residential courses and taster courses organised by universities which have in the past included Oxford, Nottingham and Bristol. Visits to Cambridge University are arranged and students attend courses at the London School of Economics, University College London and Imperial College London.

In addition many students attend taster courses in subjects as diverse as Law, Medicine, Optometry, Engineering, Physics, Design, History, Politics, English, Marketing, Sports Science, Theology, Psychology, Geography, Sociology, Economics, Computing, Business and Mathematics. Students have also attended Master classes at Kings College London and shadowed undergraduates there

These courses all count towards experience to be included on application forms. Year 13 students are provided with support filling in their application form and making the best choices for their future direction.
