Diamond Jubilee celebrations
01 Jun 2012 - 12:00amStudents at EBC celebrate the Diamond Jubilee on Friday 1st June, before breaking up for half term. It was designated a Mufti Day, whereby students were allowed to wear their own clothes to school in exchange for a £1 donation to charity. Boys were encouraged to wear football shirts in support of The Mighty Match, a charity they were raising money for. Boys also enjoyed special Jubilee cakes in advance of the weekend's celebrations of the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

The Mighty Match C.I.C is a non-profit organisation affiliated to the Surrey County Football Association. It held a 5-aside football tournament and family fun day on the first May bank holiday (7th May) at Tooting and Mitcham Community Sports Club. It organises events like these to promot positivity, togetherness and inspire young people in London. A number of boys and their families from the college took part in the event and were pleased to raise money to enable more events of this kind to take place in the future.
