Blue Ties - Blue Ties 2012
-
Blue Ties joined Ernest Bevin College in September 2012
-
On their first day they took part in activities to get to know their new classmates
-
They also learnt to find their way around college with the help of some older boys
-
Head of Blue Ties, Ms Baum and other Year 7 tutors help the boys to find their way around
-
There was also time to talk to other students
-
This Blue Tie enjoys a moment in the sun before the next activity
-
Some boys will already know each other from their Primary Schools
-
But they soon make friends even if they don't know anyone to start with
-
The boys are put into tutor groups and will mostly stay in these groups for the next five years
-
There is a lot to take in on the first few days
-
The courtyard is an area reserved for Year 7 at break and lunchtime and they can use the picnic tables to eat their packed lunches
-
After a busy first day the blue ties look ready to head home!
-
Another activity to help the new Year 7s settle into College life
-
These boys are playing touch rugby with boys in Year 8 as part of a 'Buddy Afternoon'
-
There are plenty of other sports to try out - outdoor hockey
-
...indoor hockey
-
...volleyball
-
and table tennis.
-
The Blue Ties have also settled straight into their new time tables
-
Here Mr Heathcote, one of the Blue Tie tutors (7MJH) is taking a Geography lesson
