Science - Science Week 2012
-
Science Week took place in March this year and students took part in some special science project work
-
The Year 7 students constructed rockets using water bottles and other materials
-
The idea is to customise your own unique design
-
The rockets need to be able to fly so the design must incorporate some aerodynamic features.
-
Here's one group and their rockets prior to testing.
-
The rockets are fired to see which one goes the furthest
-
Year 8s undertook a different project, their brief was to design and build a remote arm
-
A lot of thought went into the design stage
-
-
-
-
-
Then it was time to test out the designs and see how they performed
-
-
-
Year 9 students took part in a forensics workshop
-
They were given various problems that had to be solved using scientific methods
