Science Week
The Science Department organises a special Science Week each year to coincide with National Science and Engineering Week. Students get to take part in a number of challenging events and quizes with the aim of enthusing students about science and the role science plays in the world.

The theme of Science Week 2011 is communication. The week started off with a quiz in tutor time about Albert Einstein to coincide with the anniversary of his birth 14 March 1879. Year 9's then had the opportunity to quiz scientists via the "I'm a scientist get me out of here" website and vote for the scientist who they were most impressed with to receive a £500 boost to their research project.
On Tuesday a group of students took part in an all day Forensic Science workshop. They started by taking their finger prints and assigning a 'detective' to each group. Following all the clues will enable them to solve the crime at the end of the day.

Other activities during the week include a code cracking competition, writing using invisible ink and launching water rockets. See photos from EBC Science Week 2011 by visiting the Science Week photo Gallery (click on link below).
